The Ayurvedic line of treatment for obesity begins with the pacification of Kapha Dosha. This can be done by eliminating Kapha-aggravating foods from the diet.Kapha is an Ayurvedic humor which is dense, heavy, slow, sticky, wet and cold in nature. It governs all structure and lubrication in the mind and body apart from controlling weight and formation of all the seven tissues – nutritive fluids, blood, fat, muscles, bones, marrow and reproductive tissues.

Ayurvedic Herbs for Fat Loss That Work

1. Ayur Slim Capsules: Himalaya Ayur Slim Capsules are a clinically proven, safe and natural Ayurvedic treatment for weight loss. Ayur Slim has a favorable effect on weight reduction and lipid profile.

Directions: The adult dosage is 2 Ayur Slim capsules twice a day after breakfast and dinner, for a minimum period of 3 to 6 months. Ayur Slim capsules must be taken along with a reduced calorie diet and at least half an hour of exercise on a daily basis.

  • Avoid packaged, processed and/or fast foods.
  • Avoid refined sugars and desserts.
  • Do not talk or laugh while eating. Do not eat while watching TV.
  • Do not change your diet and lifestyle at once. Start with small changes in order to encourage long-term maintenance.
  • Quit drinking alcohol and smoking.
  • Eat freshly cooked warm food. It will strengthen Agni, digest food better, reduces excess kapha and vata.
  • Avoid packaged, processed and/or fast foods.
  • Avoid refined sugars and desserts.
  • Eat at fixed times, three times a day. Do not skip any meals. Keep 3–4 hours between meals. If this is too difficult, take 4–5 small meals with 2-3 hours in between.
  • Avoid snacks in between meals; however, eating a handful of roasted nuts, or a little fruit is ok.
  • Avoid eating foods that are too salty, sweet and/or cold, as this will aggravate the Kapha dosha.
  • Consume food products with complex carbohydrates like wheat, quinoa, or millet, which allow a more gradual release of simple sugars into the bloodstream.
  • Avoid simple carbohydrates such as rice and potatoes.
  • Avoid milk products (cheese and butter) and high-fat animal products.
  • Prepare your own fresh meals every day.
  • Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity.

Simple home remedies to help fight obesity

  • Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals.
  • Drink a mixture of warm water + two tablespoons of lemon juice + 1 tablespoon of honey + a hint of black pepper. Drink this regularly throughout the day.
  • Take one teaspoonful of fresh honey and mix with a half of lime juice in a glass of lukewarm water. Take several times a day at regular intervals. You can fast on this drink during the day without the loss of energy. Highly effective in obesity.
